Tara's yoga journey began in the basement of a gym in Brooklyn, NY. She had just moved to New York City from her home state of Georgia and, being used to the slower pace of the south, she quickly realized that she would need a way to cope with the pace of the city. Those basement classes got her in touch with her body and emotions in a way that she knew was essential to her well-being. As she saw her practice, relationship with herself, and her relationship with the world around her transform, her path was illuminated and she knew she wanted to share the beautiful healing of yoga.
Tara received her 200-hour yoga teaching certification through Sacred Sounds Yoga in New York City and now shares the healing she experienced through yoga with her students. Having experience working in demanding corporate gigs, she understands the importance of checking in with and taking time for yourself to avoid burn out. She emphasizes self-care, self-love, and self-exploration as necessities for healing.
As a teacher, she incorporates mindful breathing, posture, as well as, healing mantras and aromatherapy. She aims to provide a fun and welcoming space for students to connect with their own goodness and embrace whatever form of beauty they bring to their mat each day.
